The environment is very important to us
Highland Gateway Glamping is committed to minimising the impact of our activities on the environment.
The key points of our strategy to achieve this are:
Minimising energy consumption and reduce any energy wastage. When using the campsite please consider the environment and try to be as energy efficient as possible.
Minimise waste by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible.
Minimise toxic emissions through the sensible selection power provider.
Actively promote recycling both internally and amongst our suppliers.
Minimise the environmental impact on the countryside and animals around us.
Encourage wildlife - insects, bees and birds and continually improve campsite environment for them.
Use of eco friendly product including toiletries, washing up liquid and laundry detergents.
Meet or exceed all the environmental legislation requirements.
Use an accredited program to offset the greenhouse gas emissions generated by our activities.

What we have achieved:
All towels and bedlinen are washed in eco friendly products including any stain removers used.
All starter products are eco friendly including shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
The rubbish area is split up into separate recycle bins.
The campsite is lovingly planted to encourage wildlife including new hedging for birds and wild flowers which attract bees and butterflies..
Our Anthropod sits on 4 legs so needs minimal use of concrete and is made from renewable material. The Anthropod designer and builder states that “All timber comes from renewable forestry sources and the pod’s insulation is made from recycled plastics. We are constantly evaluating our suppliers and looking for ways to reduce carbon impact, for example where feasible, we are starting to use ground screws to secure the pod legs, instead of concrete pads,” .
The campsite is lit by solar lighting.
